Our AVID seniors have accomplished so much throughout the years. This is the year their hard work pays off and they are recognized and awarded for their dedication.
The ceremony included laughter and tears and beautiful speeches and deserved honors. The night ended with AVID seniors releasing their dreams and goals into the night sky.
Congratulations seniors! We will miss you!

  • Got Binder?

      Non-AVID students with their binders.
In an effort to promote more organization the AVID site team provided a binder organization training to all staff and asked all students to bring a binder to school.  Students then were provided with a lesson on how to organize their binders.  Good job El Dorado students for putting forth the
effort in maintaining your resouce; The Binder!

  • EDHS AVID Students Play Ball for Community Service

    Baseball Community Service

In an example of true student inclusion, the El Dorado High School AVID teachers along with the El Dorado High School Special Education teachers, arranged for a very special lesson involving baseball.  The true lessons learned with this unit really had nothing to do with baseball!  This event taught our kids to take care of each other, support each other, and to find ways to make someone else’s day better!

On Sept. 29 the El Dorado High School AVID students and several of our special education students met at Ponder Park to play a game of baseball. Everyone, including our parents, brought commitment and enthusiasm to the event that revealed team work, collaboration and an enduring bond. The students, parents and faculty who participated became a community that learned to appreciate the value of each other. Service for the community grew into an experience of dedication and love.
