It is an honor to beselected by my peers as the 2013, Teacher of the Year. I feel proud to be partof a dedicated team, here at Escontrias Elementary. In 2011 we received theprestigious   blue ribbon award.

I have been teachingfor 7 years, and I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to become ateacher. My passion is to see my students become independent and gain thepersonal drive to achieve their individual goals. I set high standards andexpectations for my students and provide them the tools necessary for the nextgrade level. Teaching my students “Life Skills” is   a big part teaching at this early age. Ialso strive in getting my students parents involved in their child’s academicand social learning.

I consider every staffmember “Teacher of the Year,” with their dedication in providing all the toolsand knowledge for our students to succeed beyond excellence. I truly believethat all students can learn and   excelno matter their economic status. Every day I strive to make Escontrias a   Bully Free School and for that reason mymodel is “Say No to Drugs and Yes to  School”. I want all students to want to come to school and feel safewhen they are at school.

            Ifeel that with a positive attitude, wonderful colleagues, and administration Iwill continue to build a strong foundation for all my students.
