| Parental Involvement The goal of Parental Involvement is to assist all our campuses in implementing and sustaining strong Parental Involvement Programs which fulfill the guidelines contained in Public Law 107-110, “No Child Left Behind” Act of 2001, Title I, Part A, Section 1118, Parental Involvement. Based on the "No Child Left Behind " Act, each school is required to provide learning opportunities for parents to help their children succeed in school. The law purposes are simple: to ensure that all students in the United States receive a high-quality education and to close the achievement gap that exists between children who typically perform well in school and those who do not. Many of these students whom are from minority racial and ethnic groups, have disabilities, live in poverty, or do not have English as their first language. Due to this law, the position of Parent Liaison was created by the Socorro Independent School District. I am the Parent Liaison at Socorro HIgh School and I will be providing workshops/classes/and trainings for you as parents in order to benefit your child's success in school. I am currently on a program called "Family Frameworks. These sessions are designedfor parents. Our goal is to best serve your needs and direct you to the proper faculty, staff member, special program or an outside agency if needed.
