Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! I am very excited to be one of the instructional coaches for SMS this year. I will be working very closely with the ELAR and Social Studies Departments. Since I was an ELAR teacher, Ifirmly believe that every student must READ every single day. Reading is the foundation to EVERYTHING. As your child reads, they need to know the THREE GOLDEN RULES:
1. Learn to READ ON THE LINES.
2. Learn to READ BETWEEN THE LINES.
3. Learn to READ BEYOND THE LINES.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY EDUCATION
I am a proud graduate of Socorro High School!!! After graduating from SHS in 1992, I continued my education at UTEP. At first, I was seeking a degree in Physical Therapy, but I decided to pursue a degree in Education. I wanted to contaminate my students with my passion for learning. I graduated from UTEP in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in English and American Literature and a minor in Education. In 2002, I decided to go back to school and acquire a Master's Degree in Reading Education. I graduated in 2005. (YEAH!) I am currently working on my Counseling Degree!!! YAY! MY HOME LIFE I am married to a wonderful husband, who supports me in every thing I do. I have four wonderful children: Craig (19), Andrea (18), Joshua (15), and Clarissa (my little princess, 10). I am a PROUD LONGHORN MOM (hook 'em horns \m/.....) I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling....and $$HOPPING!!!
