Mrs. Sylvia M. Santoyo received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).  She started her teaching career as a speech teacher at Socorro H.S.  As a speech teacher she was also the academic coach of the speech/debate team.  It was at Socorro H.S. that her interest in the library became apparent and she decided to pursue her master's degree.   Mrs. Santoyo received her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas (UNT).
