The mission of the Captain Walter E. Clarke Middle School's Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling program is to prepare all students for success in academics, career development and their relationships with others in order to help students meet the challenges facing them in the third millenium.

The school counselors at Captain Walter E. Clarke Middle School believe:

  A safe, bully-free school climate is necessary for student success

  All students develop academic, career, and personal/social skills through classroom guidance, individual planning, responsive services, and system support

  Our comprehensive school counseling program is an integral part of the total education program

  All students have the right to participate in the school counseling program

 

The Captain Walter E. Clarke Middle School comprehensive guidance and counseling program should:

  Be guided by an active advisory council

  Be based on specified goals driven by data and feedback from all stakeholders

  Provide all students access to a comprehensive school counseling program that is based on developmental competencies

  Utilize community resources to enhance and deliver programs

  Monitor student progress

 

All the counselors at Captain Walter E. Clarke Middle School will:

  Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association, Texas Education Agency, and the policies of the Socorro Independent School District

  Participate in professional development activities essential to maintain a quality school counseling program
