School Information










Jane A. Hambric opened in El Paso, Texas in July of 2000. Hambric Elementary was named after Mrs. Jane (McCoy) Hambric, a marvelous teacher from the Socorro Independent School District. She was a journalism teacher at Socorro High School and later at Americas High School before she passed away in 1997. Over 600 community members wrote to SISD and requested that a new school be named in her honor. Mrs. Jane Hambric was later inducted into the Marshall University Journalism and Mass Communications Hall of Fame in May of 2002.

Jane A. Hambric School is both a Pre-Kinder through 5th grade elementary school and a 6th through 8th grade middle school. Hambric's school population is approximately 1525 students. The past principals include: Mary Ross, Belinda Lujan, Daniel Gurany and Steve Troxel. Currently, Hambric is lead by Mrs. Donna Tyler and Mr. James Nunn.

Hambric's motto is : "Soaring to Success"
