Message from Administration

Welcome to Myrtle Cooper Elementary School where children are our priority. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing an environment that is safe and nurturing to ensure the academic success and personal development of each student. In addition, our faculty and staff reflect these commitments through their daily words, actions and by fostering a sense of family to one another as well as toward parents and students. Following a TEKS based curriculum, we are committed to providing a variety of teaching approaches to help each child grow in his/her own individual way. Success is the only option!

Parents are the most important teachers in a child’s life. We believe that the best learning environment is one in which parents, children and staff work collaboratively. We ask for your assistance and support in providing the best educational experiences possible. Research shows that parental involvement is high on the list of factors contributing to a student’s success in school.

The Myrtle Cooper planner was designed to assist your child in organizing his/her daily, weekly, and long-term assignments. Cooper parents are our partners in the important job of educating the children of this community and this planner will facilitate the provision of academic support at home.

The pages of this handbook are filled with important information regarding school policy and procedures. We suggest that parents and students review the contents together. If you have questions that remain unanswered after reading the handbook, please call the school office. We feel that open and clear communication between school and home is important to the success of our educational program. We welcome your participation and support during the school year.
