
Americas High School dress code is established to maintain an environment that is conducive to student learning and teaches respect for authority. Students at Americas High School may NOT: 1.) Dress in a manner that leads school officials to believe that their dress or grooming will disrupt, interfere with, or distract students from any school activities. 2.) Wear any clothing or accessories that contain pictures, emblems or writing that: a.) are lewd, offensive, vulgar or obscene. b.) advertise or depict tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs or any other substance prohibited by district policy. c.) are evidence of membership or affiliation in any gang. 3.) Wear clothing that may be a health or safety hazard to themselves or others. 4.) Wear hats, caps, beanies, hoodies and sunglasses in the building. 5.) Wear clothing that is strapless, transparent, low cut, bare shoulders, bare backs, spaghetti straps, tank tops, or muscle shirts. (All tops must have a 2" strap on top even if worn under a vest, coat, sweater, etc...) 6.) Wear slippers, pajamas or flip flops. 7.) Wear shorts, skirts or dresses that hug the body, are shorter than the length of the fingertips, with or without tights/leggings/stockings. 8.) Wear any facial or body piercings with the exception of earrings. Administration reserves the right to change and adapt the student dress code as new fads and trends arise. |
