Over 200 students from elementary schools throughout the District participated in the 2009 SISD Elementary Science Fair. First through third place winners were announced at the District Service Center during a special event earlier this month. New Grading Policy – Information for Parents and Students

SISD to host parental conferences

On October 20, 2009, the Socorro ISD Board of Trustees approved revisions to local policy EIA, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT GRADING/PROGRESS REPORTS TO PARENTS, effective January 4, 2010. These revisions are based upon Senate Bill 2033 which now requires all school districts to adopt a grading policy, including provisions for the assignment of grades on class assignments and examinations. MHS Advances to Area Round of Playoffs

Congratulations to the Montwood High School Football team and coaching staff for advancing to the Area Round of the UIL State Playoffs after defeating Amarillo High School, 19-14 at the Student Activities Complex on Saturday.  Montwood (8-3) will face Arlington Bowie (9-2) on Saturday, November 21st at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, Texas. Mission Early College High School (MECHS) senior Fred Alexander Smalley was recognized for earning the rank of Eagle Scout during a special ceremony held at Jane A. Hambric School. Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Boy Scout can obtain. He is the tenth Scout to earn the rank under Troop 37 Scoutmaster and Jane A. Hambric School Assistant Principal Jesus Beltran. Read more...
