Today Vista Del Sol Elementary had a code blue lockdown. El Paso Police 911 received a call that indicated a situation in the area of Vista Del Sol and conducted a code blue operation to make sure the school was safe. Code blue requires that the school be locked down. The students and teachers remained in the classroom while the El Paso Police Department conducted a safety check.
 
El Paso Police determined there was no danger in the school and the call was determined to be a false alarm. However, teachers, staff and students all responded as they have been trained to do in an emergency of this nature.
 
Vista Del Sol will have counselors available tomorrow for any students who want to discuss this any further. If parents have any questions, they can contact Irma Rodriguez, Principal of Vista Del Sol Elementary School at 937-7500.
 
 
Hoy tuvimos un incidente adonde un codigo azul de emergencia indico que teniamos una emergencia en la area de Vista del Sol. El codigo azul se uso para aseguaramos que totos los ninos estuvieran seguros. El codigo azul requiere que todos cerramos la escuela por completo. Las maestras/os se quedaron en la clase y los policias revisaron la escuela.
 
El departamento de Policia del Paso indico que la escuela no estaba en peligro. Las maestras y los estudiates respondieron como se las habia entrenado en un caso de emergencia.
