Mr. Hernandez has been in
education for approximately 25 years serving as a teacher, head boys and girls
coach, and high school campus principal, 16-5A U.I.L. executive chair and
district director. Mr. Hernandez has served in Tornillo I.S.D.,
Ysleta I.S.D. and most recently in Round Rock I.S.D. located just north of the
capital city of Austin. Mr. Hernandez earned his Bachelor’s degree on a
football scholarship from Wingate University, North Carolina and completed his
Texas teaching certification from UTEP. He earned his Master’s degree in
Education Administration from Texas State University, San Marcos, where he was
given a special letter of recognition for maintaining straight A’s while in the
two year program. Recently, Mr. Hernandez has completed his
superintendent’s certification program from Texas State University.
Mr. Hernandez has an extensive leadership resume with state recognized
academic achievements, awards and many championships recorded deep into U.I.L.
state brackets. Our newest member of the Socorro I.S.D. team, Albert
Hernandez, is eager to work with the great people of Socorro and is looking
forward to making a positive impact in the division of athletics.
