All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in order to be considered for the position of Substitute Teacher / Substitute Nurse.
Substitute Teacher:
Speak, read & write English
Minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit
Copy of official transcript
Three (3) current recommendation letters on letterhead stationary (all letters must be within the past year, dated and signed)
Attend a scheduled substitute teacher orientation
Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in English with district employees, parents, and students
Criminal background checks (Note: These forms can be picked up at the SISD District Service Center or downloaded from our Forms Page, see Contents menu on the left.)

Substitute Nurse:
Registered Nurse with current Texas license
Proof of current training in Basic Life Support
One year experience preferred

Demonstrate the ability of effectively communicate in English with district employees, parents, and students
