Pat O'Neill is beginning his thirty-eight year in education. For the first fifteen years of his career, he was a social studies teacher at Ysleta and Hanks High Schools in the Ysleta Independent School District. In 1985, Mr. O'Neill became the head football coach helping lead the Knights to the state playoffs 3 times and winning two district championships. From Hanks he moved on to the Office of Athletics in the Ysleta Independent School District where he served as the Athletic Coordinator for two years. An opportunity to join the Socorro Independent School District presented itself and he jumped at the opportunity to become a member of Art Shaw's faculty at Montwood High School. In 1993, he was appointed Assistant Principal at Montwood High School. In 1996, opportunity came knocking again; Clint Independent School District recruited him to be their Athletic Director. Two years later, Mr. O'Neill was named the Athletic Director for the Ysleta Independent School District. In 2000, he was appointed Executive Director for Co-Curricular and Safety Nets Programs. During that time he was overseeing Athletics, Fine Arts, JRTOC, Health Services, Guidance and Counseling, Advanced Academics, AVID, CATE and other various programs. In 2005, he was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association. In May 2007, Mr. O'Neill rejoined the Socorro Independent School District family where he was appointed Assistant Superintendent. Currently, he is overseeing the Administrative Services department which includes: Athletics, Student Services, Police Services, Health Services, KEYS Academy, Options High School, Drop Out Recovery, Fine Arts, Community Education, Transportation and other various responsibilities.
