The MECHS Social Studies Department aims to develop Renaissance individuals who are well rounded and discerning citizens. We aim to produce culturally literate students who can look at several different viewpoints and decide what is right and applicable to them. We want our students to make the lasting connections between our subject matter and the events in the real world. Lastly, we strive to empower our students to understand that "to whom much is given, much is expected," so that they may develop an attitude of civic responsibility.
