Science Department at Sun Ridge Middle School

"Why?  We know the importance of this one simple word and encourage students to ask questions with a purpose.  The goal of Science Education at Sun Ridge Middle School is to have our youth question the status quo and become abstract thinkers.  We have a strong fundamental belief that in order to be compassionate, informed, inquisitive citizens we must educate our students to give them the confidence to do what is right and what is needed. 

We are aware that students are naturally curious and as teachers we want to ensure that curiosity continues to develop.  After all, students learn from a young age that the world is full of the unknown.  Primarily through science education do they begin to understand that science is all around us.  Everything from the initial conception to the day the sun goes down, science processes are occurring.  Science is part of these processes that occur and is also part of the solution to many of the greatest questions ever asked. 

Through science anything is possible."
