As a result of House Bill 5, which was passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature and signed by the governor, high school students are now required to pass five State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) end-of-course exams to meet the new graduation requirements.
At the Board of Trustees meeting on June 11, Superintendent Dr. José Espinoza and the Board named new principals at three SISD elementary schools.
The results from SISD’s 2013 Campus Climate Surveys are available for viewing along with the Campus Climate Action Plans, which were developed using the data from the surveys.
SISD provided live streaming of the 2013 graduation ceremonies on the district website. The recordings of the live streaming are now available to watch at any time.
The Socorro Independent School District will conduct a public information meeting to review NCLB Federal Grants at 6:30 p.m. June 11 in the Board Room at the District Service Center, 12440 Rojas Dr.
The annual School Uniform Swap will be from 9 to 11 a.m. July 13 at Eastlake High School. School uniforms are being accepted now as donations or for a credit slip for the day of the uniform swap.
The Socorro ISD Child Nutrition Department will offer free meals to all children ages 18 and under from June 3 through June 28.
The summer school bus routes are now available from the SISD Transportation Department.
