Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! I'm looking forward to a successful and productuve school year filled with rich new learning experiences. My name is Mrs. Virginia Gonzales and this is my 17th year teaching, however, my first year here at John Drugan. I am a graduate of UTEP with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and a Master's degree in Reading Education. I began my teaching career in 1990 working in the middle school for five years and then one year at the high school. I was blessed to be able to stay home for six years after that to become a full-time mom to my three young children. I then came back to teach at the elementary level for the next ten years, and although I really loved it, I'm excited and looking forward to be back teaching middle school!
