Superintendent Search Update

Three candidates to continue in public round of
SISD superintendent search

Of the 83 applicants for the SISD vacant superintendent position, three will continue to the next round of the interview process and be formally introduced to the community in a series of forums July 10, 11 and 12. The candidate selected will replace Dr. Xavier De La Torre, who recently left the District for a new position.

The public forums will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to meet and interact with the candidates and provide feedback to the Board for consideration in its final selection. Each meeting will be held in the District Service Center, 12440 Rojas, from 6 to 7 p.m. The forums are open to the public and participants are encouraged to attend each meeting in order to share their impression of all candidates with the Board.

Prior to the open community meetings, the candidates will meet with student, employee, parent and business groups and be given a tour of the District. The Board will then conclude each evening with a closing interview. The Board is anticipated to name a finalist candidate to serve as the SISD superintendent of schools by the end of July 2012.
