About Us

  • El Dorado Ninth Grade Academy (ED9) opened its doors to 915 students in 2010 under the leadership of Principal Troy T. Byrne and Assistant Principals Bob Hood, Mark Parra, and Tina Sanchez. The campus became the first ever ninth grade academy in the SISD. El Dorado Ninth Grade Academy currently serves 994 students.

ED9 works in conjunction with El Dorado High School by initiating exposure to student programs that will be continued at EDHS. Programs include the International Baccalaureate World School (IB) and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). The surrounding community anticipates the transition from El Dorado Ninth Grade Academy to Pebble Hills High School in the near future.

  • TARDY SWEEPS

In order to maximize instructional time, we want to ensure all students are in class in a timely manner.   Therefore, beginning tomorrow Wednesday, December 4, 2013, we will have random tardy sweeps. When we make the announcement, “Tardy Sweep” teachers will close their classroom door and any student still in the hall will be required to get a tardy slip and will have to serve after school detention.  We appreciate your support in encouraging your child to arrive to class on time.
