    Student early release/staff development day

    The Socorro Independent School District will have a student early release and staff development day on Wednesday, August  31st.  The early release schedule is:

    Pre-K and Kindergarten                       11 a.m.

    Elementary (1st-5th)                               11:30 a.m.

    K-8 school (1st-8th)                                11:30 a.m.       

    Middle school                                      Noon

    High school                                         12:30 p.m.

    All pre-kindergarten students, including PM classes, will attend class in the morning from 7:45 to 11 a.m. Buses will be at elementary and middle schools at the time of early release and run their normal routes. Buses will pick up between 12:30 and 1 p.m. at the high schools and run their normal routes. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school.

  • The faculty and staff at Jane A. Hambric School do not tolerate bullying behavior of any kind (verbal, physical, social or cyber) on our campus.  Please report all bullying incidents to an administrative member or counselor immediately. 
    The definition of bullying as stated in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is:  "Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself".

About Us

  • Jane A. Hambric School opened its doors in July of the year 2000.  The school was named after Jane A. Hambric, a journalism teacher who taught at Socorro High School for many years.  When Americas High School opened in September of 1996, she was excited to begin the first journalism class for the new high school in the district.  Jane A. Hambric died of a heart attack in 1997.  Jane A. Hambric School is the Home of the Hawks who 'Soar to Success'.  The motto for the 2014-2015 school year is "What happens at Hambric, changes the world"!
