    Mission Statement:

    The mission of the H.D. Hilley counseling program is to provide a safe, equitable, and supportive learning environment where all scholars strive to embrace lifelong learning. Through participation in the counseling program, all scholars will develop essential academic, career and social/emotional skills that lead them to demonstrate responsibility, fairness, and respect for all. In partnership with educators, parents, and a caring community, the school counselor will advocate for every scholar ensuring success in all avenues of their lives.

    Vison Statement: 

    The H.D. Hilley counseling program envisions a future where every scholar demonstrates leadership through learning opportunities that shape and enhance their academic and social/emotional lives. All scholars will appreciate diversity and make every effort to establish resiliency through problem solving and critical thinking skills. The school counseling department ensures readiness for college and career endeavors, making our scholars contributing and productive members of society.


    The H.D. Hilley Counselor believes that:

    · Every student should graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary opportunities.

    · Every student should have access to a comprehensive school counseling program.

    · Effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators,        other staff and education stakeholders.

    · School counselors are leaders in the school, district, state and nation.

    · Comprehensive school counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career and social/emotional outcomes.
