Library Check Out Policy:
Kinder students may check out 1 at a time for a two-week period.First - Fifth grade students may check out 2 books at a time for a two-week period.Parents may check out five books at a time for a two-week period.
Fines and Fees:No Fines are assessed for late books.Damaged books: $1.00 - $5.00 for books that can be re-shelved. (torn pages, slight water damage, lost dust jacket, lost barcode)Damaged books that cannot be shelved: Cost of the book (dog ate at the corners, water damage with mold, missing pages)Lost books: Cost of the bookParents and non-student patrons will be charged 5 cents a day for each late book daily.
Bluebonnet Book Club:The Bluebonnet Book Club is for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. The club will read the twenty Texas Bluebonnet Books nominated for the year and then vote for their favorite book in January. Meetings are held on Tuesdays during lunch. Students will eat lunch in the library and are encouraged to bring a sack lunch from home, so that they are not wasting time in the lunch line. Bluebonnet Club members are allowed to check out one Bluebonnet book and two regular library books at a time. Five members will be chosen to compete in our district's Battle of the Bluebonnets in February.Library ClubThis year, the library will have a library club for interested 4th and 5th graders. Students will help shelve books, read books (that interest them) either on their own or with a friend(s) and create book trailers and book talks to help other kids become interested in reading. The club will begin in August.2021-2022 Library Schedule(students will visit the library for lessons every two weeks on an A/B schedule)MakerspaceThe library's Makerspace is open before school and during lunch for students in second - fifth grade. Makerspace is a space in the library where students can learn on their own, using STEAM themes (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.)This activity is suspended until further notice.
