House Bill 5 is new Texas Law that impacts attendance and graduation plans. The Socorro Independent School District website www.sisd.net has some very important information under the parent tab(A Pathway to Success - HB5).

    Check it out at https://www.sisd.net/HB5.

As part of our college bound expectations Scholars are allowed to wear a college/university shirt with regular uniform bottoms as part of their Friday uniform.

It is never too early to start talking to children about college and setting the expectation that they attend.

Even though your child is in elementary school, it’s never too early to start talking about college and careers! There are many ways families can create a college-going culture.

    • Talk about your education and career and discuss a variety of other careers so your child knows there are many options out there
    • Talk about your child’s college and career goals
    • Start a piggy bank or savings account for college
    • Buy college gear or search online for information about different universities
