Fees and Fines
Please encourage and remind your scholar to be responsible and return books to school on the day their class is scheduled for library. As per district policy, there are never late fines charged to any student in K – 5th grade. Scholars are only charged fees if there is a lost or damaged book checked out under their name. Please remind scholars that they are not to lend books checked out to them under any circumstances. Students with any overdue books will not be allowed to check out additional books. Students should always check the condition of books before they are borrowed and leave the library. Any book that is returned damaged will be charged to the last borrower.
Teachers schedule their classes on an A/B schedule. Additional flex time is available upon request. Please see the librarian to schedule any additional time.
In cooperation with the other libraries in the SISD, we offer the option of interlibrary loan for teachers only. Upon request, teachers may check out available items from other SISD campus libraries. Please see the librarian or assistant if you wish to take use this service.
Most books in the library are labeled with Accelerated Reading ™ levels. Scholars are encouraged to read within their zone of proximity level in order to reach reading growth goals.
Scholars are expected to follow the three campus rules as outlined in the Positive Behavioral Interventions Support:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
There are occasions when Scholars will be sent back to class if they do not behave accordingly.
