                Armando Martinez currently serves as the Director of Fine Arts for the Socorro Independent School District in El Paso, TX. Prior to beginning his service in Socorro in April of 2018, Mr. Martinez served the Del Valle Band Program since 2002 in various capacities such as: Director of Bands, Associate Director of Bands, Lead Visual Instructor, Woodwind Instructor and Program Coordinator. During his tenure at Del Valle, Mr. Martinez has served as the conductor of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Marching Band which have all consistently earned various honors including UIL “Sweepstakes” recipients, superior ratings and Best In Class Honors at various festivals throughout Texas, New Mexico, and California. Significant honors include the 2015 Texas Tech Jazz Festival Grand Champions, the co-conductor of the 2013 Midwest Performing Jazz Ensemble, 2017 TMEA Area A State Honor Band Alternate, participants in 2003, 2005, 2009, 2011 and most recent 2017 UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest.

                Mr. Martinez has served as an organizer for various honor bands including TMEA Region Bands, Jazz Bands and Ysleta ISD Honor Bands. Since 2009 he has served as the Audition Coordinator for the Region 22 Band and Jazz Divisions where he has served at the region, area and state level. In addition to his duties as Audition Coordinator, Mr. Martinez currently serves as the Region 22 Jazz Chairman facilitating all MS and HS Jazz activities in the Region. He also serves as an active conductor and clinician in the El Paso area. Mr. Martinez performs professionally throughout the El Paso area with the El Paso Wind Symphony. He has performed throughout Texas, Germany and Austria.

                Mr. Martinez received his Bachelor of Music degree at The University of Texas at El Paso in 2004. In 2009 he completed his Masters of Science in Educational Administration from The University of Scranton. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, Pi Lambda Theta and Alpha Chi Honor Societies.

                Mr. Martinez currently resides is El Paso, TX with his beautiful wife Elyana and wonderful children Hannah, Gael and Camila.

    Ronald Pingor is the Assistant Director of Fine Arts for the Socorro Independent School District.  Mr. Pingor has served in the United States Army for 5 ½ years.  While in the military, Ronald was assigned as a trumpet player for the 3rd Armor Division Band stationed in Frankfurt, Germany and the 62nd Army Band located at Fort Bliss in El Paso.

    After his release from the U.S. Army, Mr. Pingor began his teaching career as the Head Band Director at Bowie High School in the El Paso ISD in 1986.  During his years as an educator, Pingor has also taught in the Ysleta ISD and the Socorro I.S.D.  Most recently, he has been the head band director at Montwood High School.

    Mr. Pingor has earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Music Education from the University of Texas at El Paso.

    Janet Lynch is the Instrumental Music Specialist for the SISD Fine Arts Department.  Prior to this assignment, Ms. Lynch taught High School and Middle School Band for 28 years, most recently at Montwood Middle School, where she was an original Moose and Teacher of the Year in 2007 and SISD TOY District Finalist.  Her Concert and Jazz Bands earned numerous First Division ratings and ranked in the top 30 in Texas and the greater southwest.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas A&M-Commerce and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of Texas-El Paso.  She is a current member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Administrators Conference and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.  She continues to be a professional musician and active adjudicator throughout Texas and New Mexico.

    Macka L. Jones is the Visual Arts Specialist for the Socorro Independent School District.   He has been recognized for helping students develop their talents in visual art for over 16 years. Throughout his career Jones' students have won or placed in art competitions at the county, state, and national level. In 2013, he was honored as the first teacher to be showcased in the SISD video series, " Building on Excellence". He holds a Bachelors Degree in Art Education from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Masters Degree in Sports Administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
