PE Credit Course Offerings
Two units of PE may be counted as state credit towards graduation. All PE course offerings are semester-based. Students do not have to take them in numerical order. All PE courses require appropriate attire. Students must also provide their own tennis shoes, socks, shorts, sweats and t-shirts. Water bottles are also required.

PE Foundations P101 (Fall) / P102 (Spring)
This is a required semester course for all students who need to fulfill the state requirement. It is an overview of physical fitness, wellness, and various health issues.

P501 Health Education
Studies in Health Education will aid students with developing skills that will make them health-literate adults. Students are taught how to access accurate information that they can use to promote health for themselves and others. They utilize problem-solving, research, goal-setting, and communication skills to protect their health and that of the community.

Individual Sports P433 (Fall) / P434 (Spring)
Racquet Sports: Badminton, Tennis, Pickle Ball, Table Tennis
This class is offered to those students who enjoy participating in sports activities which involve a racket and developing eye-hand coordination.

PE Recreational Sports P107 (Fall) / P108 (Spring)
Archery, Golf, Orienteering, Juggling, Bowling
This class will focus on maintaining and acquiring physical fitness and wellness through a variety of fun, recreational type activities.

P435 Individual Sports 3 (Fall)
PE Sport Officiating: Football, Volleyball, Basketball
This class will focus on officiating techniques and scorekeeping. It is recommended that you have a good working knowledge of several sports, preferably at the junior varsity or varsity level. Completion of the class may provide employment opportunities to officiate or score keep at games within the district.

P436 Individual Sports 4 (Spring)

Sports Medicine P401 (Fall) / P402 (Spring)
Teacher approval is required. This class provides in integrated and practical approach to the care of the injured athlete. It targets students who may be interested in health care, sports medicine, or athletic training.

PE Team Sports P103 (Fall) / P104 (Spring)
Fall: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer
Spring: Softball, Soccer, Hockey, Ultimate Frisbee
This class is geared to those students who enjoy participating in team sports play.

Weight Lifting/Conditioning PP425 (Fall) / PP426 (Spring)
This class is geared towards male and female students who want to get into better shape, gain strength, lose weight, sculpt their bodies, or maintain their wellness. The class will involve basic machines and free weight training along with a variety of conditioning aerobic activities.

Dance I D101 (Fall) / D102 (Spring)
All dance course offerings are semester based. Students must take a dance I class in order to take a Dance II course. Dance courses require appropriate clothing which include black jazz pant, dance top, jazz shoes.
All dance classes except for Dance IV are available to all students regardless of their classification. There are no prerequisites.
Course Description: This class offers training in various dance styles including: Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Character, and Modern.

Dance II D103 (Fall) / D104 (Spring)
This course satisfies PE requirement, may satisfy Fine Arts requirement or may be taken as an elective credit.
All dance course offerings are semester based. Students must take a dance I class in order to fulfill the requirements in Dance II. Dance courses require appropriate clothing which include black jazz pant, dance top, jazz shoes.
All dance classes except for Dance IV are available to all students regardless of their classification. There are no prerequisites.

D103 Dance II (Fall)
D104 Dance II (Spring)
This class focuses on wellness and conditioning. It incorporates various aerobic activities, along with weight, and resistance training.

Yoga P4441 (Fall) / P4442 (Spring)
Only two units of PE may be counted as state credit towards graduation.
This course requires appropriate clothing and materials which includes dance sweatshirt, dance top, dance bag, yoga style pant, and yoga mat. Yoga is a wellness class. No shoes are needed for yoga, however, rubber bottomed non-skid socks may be worn.

Course Description: Students will learn the basic concepts and techniques of yoga aimed at integrating the mind, body, and spirit.
