At Elfida P. Chavez our student's safety is TOP priority.Our goal is to provide students with a safe and supportive learning environment.Safety initiatives include:-Security cameras located around interior and exterior of building-School Resource Officer on duty-Doors are locked at all times-Upon arrival at school students come directly into the building- All visitors are required to sign in and show a valid ID upon entering building.-All visitors must wear a visible school issued pass when in building-Volunteers are screened and must have a current background check on file with the district-(M.O.D Squad) "Moose on Duty" Fathers who assist us in patrolling the campus and playground throughout the day-All staff and students are trained in emergency procedures as outlined in district policy. Various emergency drills are practiced on a monthly basis.-Crossing guards are on duty before and after school-Adult monitors supervise students outside during lunch recess- Strict "NO BULLYING" policy-Olweus Bullying Prevention Program which includes weekly lessons and class meetings
