At Elfida P. Chavez our student's safety is TOP priority.
    Our goal is to provide students with a safe and supportive learning environment.
    Safety initiatives include:
    -Security cameras located around interior and exterior of building
    -School Resource Officer on duty
    -Doors are locked at all times
    -Upon arrival at school students come directly into the building
    - All visitors are required to sign in and show a valid ID upon entering building.
    -All visitors must wear a visible school issued pass when in building
    -Volunteers are screened and must have a current background check on file with the district
    -(M.O.D Squad) "Moose on Duty" Fathers who assist us in patrolling the campus and playground throughout the day
    -All staff and students are trained in emergency procedures as outlined in district policy. Various emergency drills are practiced on a monthly basis.
    -Crossing guards are on duty before and after school
    -Adult monitors supervise students outside during lunch recess
     - Strict "NO BULLYING" policy 
    -Olweus Bullying Prevention Program which includes weekly lessons and class meetings
