Socorro ISD is committed to providing its students, staff, and administrators with the tools and resources necessary to make learning in the classroom more effective. A major component of the district’s digital conversion is the implementation of a learning management system (LMS) that will be known as United 4 SISD. A learning management system is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of electronic educational technology courses or training programs.

The continued evolution of the current district portal (my.sisd.net) into a centralized system will unite the network of teaching and learning resources in four categories: locally-developed curriculum and software, personalized learning resources, data repositories, and on-demand digital instructional resources. The goal of the United 4 SISD LMS is to provide stakeholders with a simplified, organized vehicle to gain access to such resources.

The district has adopted an LMS, and is planning implementation of a pilot Fall 2018 with high schools. The intent is to have additional phases ensuing over the course the next two academic school years.
