    Mr. Oscar Leza has been a proud member of the Socorro ISD team for over 15 years. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1999, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English and American Literature and completed his master's degree at Webster University in Computer Resource and Information Management in 2008. A certified bilingual and technology teacher, Oscar has taught 5th-8th grade and has taught Technology Applications at all levels Pre-K through 12th grade. Having worked with the Department of State and Federal Programs for over 10 years, he looks forward to working with colleagues and campuses in the quest to develop young minds.
    He currently oversees the following:
    • District and Campus Improvement Plans
      As outlined by the Texas Education Code, each school district and each of its campuses is required to develop a formal plan to improve student academic performance. District and campus plans are developed annually and are approved by the school board to support state academic goals and objectives.
    • District and Campus Decision-Making Committees (EPAC/SIT)
      District and campus decision-making committees, as decreed by the Texas Education Code and TEA's Financial Accountability Systems Resource Guide, exist to provide a method of communication and deliberation towards the academic improvement of students. Members at each level work to ensure steady progress towards the betterment of student learning.
    • Migrant Education Program
      The Migrant Education Program provides academic and support services to students whose families migrate to find work in the agricultural and fishing industries.
