Americas High School

Socorro Independent School District

  • Greetings from the Principal

    Dear Blazer Nation,

In the blink of an eye, we have made it through the first 6 weeks of the 2021-2022 school year! September 11, 2021 also marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11. A moment in time we will never forget as we witnessed the bravery of our first responders, and our resolve as a nation. We are eternally grateful for the selflessness of all those effected and lost. On September 10, 2021, our trailblazing student council, band, orchestra, flags, ROTC, choir, Blazerettes, and cheer came together for a beautiful ceremony, commemorating such a significant time of our history.

September 10, 2021 also marks the first eligibility check of the school year. To meet eligibility for all UIL events, the students must have a grade of 70 or higher in all courses. In addition, here at our Blazer Nation, students cannot have LOC to participate in any extracurricular activity. Progress reports will be available on the parent portal on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.  Please help us by monitoring your child’s progress.

We continue to monitor any changes regarding Covid. With that said, we want to make sure that our Blazer Nation stays safe so a few reminders: 1, if you’re feeling ill or somebody in your home is pending Covid results please stay home. 2, it’s important we practice good hygiene, such as washing our hands often, maintaining distance and using health etiquette. 3, we do not accept food or celebration deliveries. 4, please bring your water bottle so you can stay hydrated.

Let’s finish this last 9 weeks strong Trailblazers!

Endless Opportunities

Trailblazer Early College: Welcome Class of 2025

About Us

  • Located on the far eastside of El Paso, Americas High School opened its doors in September 1996 on a desert plain just waiting to be populated with new homes and businesses. Being a new school, the student body consisted of seventh, eighth, and ninth graders under the principalship of Mr. Tony Baca. Forever recorded in history, that ninth grade student body became the first graduating class at Americas High School in May 2000.
Vision:Tomorrow's Leaders Learning Today
Mission:The mission of the Socorro Independent School District is to optimize our students' academic, artistic, athletic, and interpersonal skills.
