DC courses are conducted in two ways:
Courses are taught by instructors who have been approved and credentialed by the appropriate EPCC academic departments. Generally, this consists of having a master’s degree and at least 18 graduate level hours in the field taught. At the campus level, the instructor may be the actual "teacher" or the course may be facilitated by someone else, with the actual instructor being off-campus (i.e., on-line).
DC instructors must be regularly employed faculty members of EPCC or must meet the same standards (including minimal requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and approval procedures used by EPCC to select faculty responsible for teaching the same courses at EPCC; they approve/select instructors of DC courses, and these instructors assign student grades.
