• Public Information Act (Open Records Act)

    Request for Information Procedures

    All Open Records Requests shall be referred to the Human Resources Department.

    The Department of Human Resources will forward requests to the appropriate Assistant Superintendent/designee. If there are any questions regarding the request, the Chief Human Resources Officer/designee will contact the District's attorney for advice. The Assistant Superintendent/designee will sign off his/her approval, and forward the request to the appropriate administrator(s).

    The administrator(s) assigned to process the Open Records Request will fill out the Estimated Cost Form to determine the cost of copies and the cost for gathering information, if any. Please refer to policy GBA-A, Guidelines for Copy Charges.

    The Department of Human Resources will obtain a signature from the requestor agreeing to pay the costs, if any, to copy the information. The approval from the requestor will be forwarded to the department gathering the information.

    Once the information is ready to be disseminated, it will be returned to the Department of Human Resources, which will then contact the requestor.

    The requestor will pay the cost at the Business Services Department, and the department will issue a receipt for payment. The money obtained will be deposited at the general fund. Information will be given out to the requestor after they provide a receipt from the Business Services Department.

    The Department of Human Resources will retain the signed forms and keep them on file electronically.
