Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2)
What is the TSIA2?
The TSIA2 is a placement assessment used by several colleges and universities to assess student skill levels in reading, writing, and math. It helps institutions determine which courses the students will be able to enroll in.
Socorro ISD also uses the TSIA2 to place students in Dual Credit courses.

Mandatory Pre-Assessment Activities
Before students are eligible to take the TSIA2, they must participate in the Pre-Assessment Activity Modules (PAAM). The activity includes the following:
- An explanation of the importance of the TSIA2;
- Practice test questions and feedback;
- An explanation of all your developmental education options; if you don't meet the minimum passing standards; and Information on campus and community resources that will help succeed as a college student.
