With a No Excuses vision for academic excellence, SISD became the first and only large district in the El Paso region in 2019 to earn an “A” grade in the Texas Education Agency latest accountability ratings. For two consecutive years, SISD is also the only district in the region and one of only three districts in a pool of the largest 50 in the state to earn the distinction for postsecondary readiness at the district level.

SISD also became the largest school district in the state of Texas and the only district in the region to earn both an “A” grade as well as the coveted postsecondary readiness distinction designation by TEA in 2019.

The district’s highly qualified and effective faculty and staff have ensured SISD’s students continue to outperform their peers in the region and state in annual academic assessments. For the sixth consecutive year, SISD students surpassed the state passing rate in all STAAR exams for grades three through eight.
