The Socorro Independent School District provides Special Educational Programs and Services to identified children with disabilities, who reside within the district, beginning on their third birthday and continuing through age twenty-one. Services are also provided to identified children with hearing and visual impairments, who reside within the district, from birth through age twenty-one.
It is the mission of the Special Education Department, to empower all children with disabilities to benefit from an education, to the best of their abilities.
Socorro Special Education Department offers such services as:
- Occupation Therapy Physical Therapy
- Dyslexia Services Transition Services
- Orientation and Mobility Services Visual Impairment Services
- Adaptive Physical Education Auditory Impairment Services
- Speech Therapy Autism Services
- Counseling Services Music Therapy

El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Socorro proporciona programas y servicios educativos especiales a niños identificados con discapacidades. Estos servicios son proporcionados a niños que residen dentro del distrito, comenzando a los tres años de edad hasta la edad de veintiún años. Servicios también son proporcionados a niños identificados con impedimentos auditivos o visuales, que residen dentro del distrito, desde nacimiento hasta los veintiún años.
