Team SISD develops comprehensive plan for safe return to school
Team SISD is committed to providing a safe, supportive learning environment for everyone in the district and has been working tirelessly to provide proactive safety protocols to ensure a smooth, safe reopening of the district’s campuses and facilities for the 2020-21 school year as directed by Governor Abbot and the Texas Education Agency.
The following plan was developed by the district Safety and Security Committee, in line with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, state and local health and government authorities and Texas Education Agency, to ensure the health and safety of all students and employees. The new measures consider the optimal ways to implement daily wellness checks, social distancing, and mask usage, while resuming instruction and supporting the physical, social and emotional needs of all SISD students and staff.
As with all COVID-19 plans, it is important to note that details may be subject to change pending the state of our local community health and new guidance issued by national, state, and local authorities as we approach the first day of school.
