Hello Escontrias Community!   

I am Ms. Lopez, the Communities in Schools Coordinator at Escontrias Elementary.

So what do Communities In Schools Coordinators do at the campuses? Here is a brief overview! 

• Collaborate with campus staff to integrate services that would improve behavior, attendance and academics  
• Collaborate with campus staff to integrate services that would improve parental engagement  
• Conduct home visits as needed throughout the year  
• Manage a caseload of approximately 100 case-managed students  
• Prepare, implement, and monitor student/family support plans and case progress 
• Connect families with community resources 

Aside from working with parents and community agencies to provide resources, my job is also to help students succeed both academically and interpersonally. To do this I will be conducting small groups and working with students one to one. Please see links for permission slips.
