SISD has adopted the Outdoor Tomorrow Foundation-Outdoor Adventure curriculum for the new high school physical education course, Lifetime Recreation and Outdoor Pursuits. The Outdoor Adventures course is designed to change young people’s lives forever by exposing them to the many great opportunities of the outdoors. The Outdoor Adventures (OA) curriculum covers all of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) in Section 116.53
Local, State and National Grade-Level Outcomes set expectations for student learning and OPEN instructional modules provide the learning activities, assessments, and resources to help students develop physical literacy skills, knowledge, and confidence.

SISD has implemented the CATCH program as it's coordinated school health program because of its coordination of health messages between the classroom, physical education program, school nutrition program and home. CATCH teaches children to become more active, make healthful decisions and to create positive changes in their school and home environment that support these decisions.
