K9 Voigt joined the Socorro Independent School District Police Department on 12-20-21. K9 Voigt has dual certification to detect controlled substances as well as concealed humans. K9 Voigt obtained his certification through C.C.E.P. (Canine Center El Paso)
and N.N.D.D.A. (National Narcotics Detector Dog Association) in April 2021 with his current handler.

As a K9 Team, K9 Handler Officer D. Harrison and K9 Voigt provide narcotics/firearms detection support to all schools and facilities of the Socorro Independent School District. The K9 Team’s mission is to find illegal controlled substances in all school facilities and Socorro Independent School District owned properties. The K9 team strives to provide a safe and drug free environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The K9 team also assists local agencies in El Paso County with the detection of narcotics.
