K9 Yenko joined the Socorro Independent School District Police Department on 04-16-2021. K9 Yenko obtained his controlled substance detection certification through C.C.E.P. (Canine Center El Paso) and N.N.D.D.A. (National Narcotics Detector Dog Association) in April 2021 with his current handler. 

K9 Yenko provides narcotics detection support to all schools and facilities of the Socorro Independent School District. The K9 Team’s mission is to find illegal controlled substances in all school facilities and Socorro Independent School District owned properties. The K9 team strives to provide a safe and drug free environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The K9 team also assists local agencies in El Paso County with the detection of narcotics.
