    Montwood Middle School Moose,   

          Welcome to the 2nd-6 weeks of Moose University.  We have so much planned for this new 6 weeks, and we can't wait to get started.  This 2nd-6 weeks we will be starting our group sessions with certain students.  We will be presenting HB5 Endorsement (CCRP) for our 8th graders.  We will be presenting WHO lessons to 6-8th graders.  We have our A and AB along with our Moose of the Month, and House Awards to present in November.  Moose, please stay DRUG Free and stay safe!  Stay kind to one another!  We are here for you if you need anything!  Please email us, and we will call you through Teams.

    The mission of Montwood Middle School counseling program is to provide a developmental program to meet the academic, career, and personal/social needs of our student population and to ensure that all students will learn and achieve.  In collaboration with students, parents, and our community, the counseling department will foster a comprehensive program that will support student success and prepare students for the world beyond the classroom. 

     

    Vision:

    Our primary role as school counselors is to advocate for every student by providing them with the academic and social skills needed to succeed through character driven lessons, individual counseling, career education, and small group counseling.

    Belief Statements:

    1. Every student can learn, and every student can succeed. 

    2. Every student should have access to and opportunity for a high-quality education.

    3. Every student should graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary opportunities.  

    4. Every student should have access to a comprehensive school counseling program. 

    5. Effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators, other school staff and education stakeholders.

    6. School counselors are leaders in the school, district, state and nation.

    7.  Comprehensive school counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career and social/emotional outcomes.

                                All students are important and deserve the opportunity to achieve to their highest potential. All students develop academic, career and personal/social skills through classroom guidance, individual planning, responsive services and system support provided by the counseling program.
