• Web Accessibility Notice

The Socorro Independent School District (SISD) is committed to providing access to all individuals – with or without disabilities – seeking information on our website. Our website is based on the standards outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended). Section 508 requires that all individuals with disabilities have access to and use of information and data, comparable to that provided to individuals without disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on SISD. The SISD website maintains the WCAG 2.0 standards as outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

SISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender expression, disability, economic status, marital status, religion, or age in its programs or services. SISD affirms its commitment to ensuring that all people have an equal opportunity. We encourage all students to participate in the District’s programs, benefits, and services, including those delivered through electronic and information technology.

If you are having difficulty access information on the SISD website, using an assistive technology (i.e. screen reader, eye tracking device, voice recognition software, etc.) or not, please contact us at webmaster@sisd.net with the following information:

    • "Accessibility" as the subject line
    • The URL or web address that is in concern
    • A detailed description of your accessibility concern
    • The format in which you prefer to receive the materials
    • Your contact information (full name, email address, and phone number)

We will contact you and attempt to provide the information you’re seeking.

If you need to contact us via TDD equipment, dial 7-1-1 and ask the Relay Texas agent to call the SISD helpdesk at 915-937-1111. Relay Texas provides telephone-interpreting service between people who can hear and those who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind or speech-disabled. For addition information, please visit the Relay Texas web site.

Complaints regarding website accessibility may be filed by students, parents, and members of the community through the Public Complaint/Grievance process outlined in Board Policy GF(LOCAL).

Please note that some pages on the SISD website contain links to third-party sites, which are not within SISD’s control and that may not comply with accessibility standards. SISD is not responsible for the content or accessibility of third-party sites.
