Moving can be stressful on our students, especially when it comes to their academics. Fortunately, there are resources out there for military families to help ease the strain that transitioning puts on your child's education. Whether it is for grades K-12, or heading off to college, there is help. Take a look at some of the education benefits offered to military families. Be sure to check the eligibility requirements.
Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families offers online tutors for grades K-12 that are available at any hour of the day. The tutors can help with homework, studying, test prep, and more at no cost. Click the link for more information.
Army Emergency Relief
Army Emergency Relief (AER) offers the MG James Ursano Scholarship to eligible dependents of Army soldiers. This is not a loan, so check out the link to learn more about the eligibility and deadlines.
Post 9/11 GI Bill
Did you know that you can transfer your Post 9/11 GI Bill to your dependents? There are certain requirements, such as having to serve a minimum of 6 years before the transfer and a minimum requirement of 4 additional active duty service years after the transfer. There are more eligibility requirements for this process, so please click the link to learn more directly from the VA department.
