    General Transportation Reminders

    Eligibility:

    Transportation is available for children who live two miles or more from their assigned school. The distance a student lives from their assigned school is measured using the shortest route that may be traveled on publicly maintained roads between the entrance to the campus and the drive way of the student’s legal residence.

    Pick Up Time Criteria:

    Regular transportation attempts to arrive at every bus stop on time. Due to the variances between individual clocks, students are asked to arrive at the bus stop 5 to 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. Buses will load students and depart the stop. Regular buses do not wait for late students under most circumstances.

    Disciplinary Incidences on the School Bus/ Infractions:

    Improper Boarding / Departing Procedures, Hanging Out of Window, Tampering with Bus Equipment

    Bringing Articles Aboard Bus of injurious or Objectionable Nature, Throwing Objects in or Out of Bus, Rude, Discourteous and Annoying

    Failure to Remain Seated, Spitting/ Littering, Unnecessary Noise, Fighting/ Pushing, Tripping, Other Behaviors related to Safety, Respect of Others, Refusing to Obey Driver

    Vandalism:

    Students will be required to pay for damages they cause and will be subject to criminal proceedings as well as disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

    This year district Pre-Kinder and Kinder students will be brought back to the campus when parent(s) or guardian(s) are absent from picking up the child.  Pre-K and Kinder Students from Horizon Heights or John Drugan will be taken back to that home campus.

    Video Cameras:  For Safety purposes, video/audio equipment may be used to monitor student behavior on buses and common areas on campus.
