    The vision of the SSG Manuel R. Puentes Middle School comprehensive school counseling program is that all scholars graduate college and career ready while possessing the academic, career and social emotional skills necessary to be successful lifelong learners and leaders.

    The mission of the SSG Manuel R. Puentes Middle School counseling department is to provide all scholars access to a nurturing, empowering, and equitable data-driven comprehensive school counseling program that optimizes all scholars' academic, artistic and social emotional skills.
     
    SSG Manuel R. Puentes Counseling Program Beliefs
     
    At SSG Manuel R. Puentes Middle School we believe that:
    • Every student shall be given the appropriate, timely support and intervention(s) that allow them to achieve academic, career and social/emotional success through rigorous and relevant instruction
    • The school counseling program shall educate students through a collaborative effort that is framed by the ASCA National Model
    • All students shall be given access to equitable academic opportunities through advocacy efforts of school counselors
    • The school counseling program shall be planned, coordinated and evaluated by all stakeholders; which include but not limited to staff, parents, students and community leaders
    • Our school counseling program shall be a data driven program based on specific goals, ongoing assessment and student development
    • A successful school counseling program shall be framed by ASCA's Ethical Standards allowing for student achievement
