Socorro Early College High School opened its program during the 2015-16 school year. Socorro Early College is a partnership between EPCC and SISD. We currently have four cohorts actively pursuing their Associate’s Degree, and we added our fifth cohort that began during the 2019-20 school year.
The objective of all Socorro Early College High School students is to achieve success in Pre-A/P, A/P, and dual credit courses, complete a rigorous high school graduation plan while also graduating with an Associates of Arts degree and enroll in a four-year college or university after their high school graduation.
Socorro Early College will strive to have each of its students graduate with an Associate’s Degree by the end of their fourth year in high school. Although some students may not qualify to take dual credit courses during their freshman year of high school, there will be ample opportunities for students to take summer courses to makeup courses missed due to a delayed start.
Students are selected for this program through a lottery where all students who have completed the SEC application have an equal opportunity to be accepted into the early college.
Communication among all our stakeholders is important to us. Therefore, we have developed this website to keep our community, parents, teachers, and students up to date on Socorro Early College events, goals, data, and our day to day operations. In addition to the website, we also make phone calls to parents and students to ensure everyone is informed of important events. If you need any additional information about our program, please feel free to email one of us by clicking one of the links included below.
