This is an exciting time for the guitar program at Pebble Hills High School. We are getting ready to begin our third year, and we are ready to build on the successes we have already achieved. Last year, our Varsity Guitar Ensemble and our JV Guitar Ensemble competed in the SISD Guitar Concert & Sight-Reading Contest. Both groups earned a superior rating for their concert performance. In May, we took 14 students to represent Pebble Hills HS at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin, TX where they did a fantastic job. Above all, we had a lot of fun making some great music together. We can't wait to see what this year will bring.

 

 

The mission of the Pebble Hills High School Guitar program is to help students reach their full artistic and academic potential. Learning will take place in a supportive environment that allows students to develop their skills and perform for their peers and the community. Students will have many opportunities to perform and create music at the highest level.

 

Students will learn classical guitar technique, which will serve as a foundation for exploring a wide variety of genres. It is Mr. Maguire's goal for all students to acquire the skills necessary to learn, perform and write music; ultimately becoming well-rounded musicians and individuals. This program spans all ability levels, from first year beginner students, to advanced level students who are ready to continue their studies in college.
