Shelley Chenausky is the Director of Child Nutrition Services in the Socorro Independent School District. As director for 10 years, she oversees all operations of SISD’s CNS program. She has been part of the CNS family for 19 years and has more than 35 years of food service experience in the private and public sector, with her expertise being in school food service.

Her career in school food service began as an assistant manager and she advanced to work at all levels of school food service management. In 2007, she became coordinator of Child Nutrition Services, holding that position for more than four years. Shelley is a current member of the Texas Association of School Nutrition. She has attended the National Food Service Management Institute, receiving certificates in Team up for School Nutrition Success – Southwest Region and School Nutrition Management. In addition, she holds a current Food Management Certification from the City/County of El Paso.

Shelley was born in Las Cruces, but calls El Paso her home as she was raised in El Paso. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Park University with a dual major in Management & Management/Human Resources. She also earned an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts and another in Restaurant Management from El Paso Community College.

Shelley is the proud mother of 4 sons and 9 grandchildren. She has a passion for her job and loves working with people. She knows the success of CNS is due to her team and all of their hard work. Her love for the child nutrition program is evident in everything she does as she is always trying to motivate employees and campus teams to do their best, provide great customer service and offer high-quality meals for all students in Team SISD.
