Enrique Silva Jr. retired from the military with 22 years of active duty service from the Army Texas National Guard. He then began serving the Socorro Independent School District in 1991 as a part-time bus driver and security guard. In 1992, he was hired as a warehouse/courier for Child Nutrition Services. In 1997, he was promoted to CNS Field Supervisor and in 2003 moved to CNS Specialist.
Enrique has an associate’s degree in Computer Information System Microcomputer Applications Telecommunications and Networking and maintains a current Food Service Management certification. He also has certifications from Texas School Food Service Association, Texas Association of School Business, Region XIX and Socorro ISD to keep current with the CNS program. He also obtains a Certificate of Completion Basic Peace Officer, Crisis Intervention, which consists of 704 hours of training.
Enrique is a part-time instructor with Region XIX. He has provided classes to regional school cafeteria employees on procedures for school food service related courses such as Food Production Records, Food Buying Guide and Safety. He now provides classes in Basic Kitchen Math and Basic Computer Training. In his time off, he enjoys motorcycle riding with friends.
